Camps - Portable Water Treatment

WATER TREATMENT

The Water Control Center (WCC) is a fully automated, modular water treatment system, within a self-contained, purpose fitted, 20ft ISO container, which can treat and distribute water from any natural fresh water source.

The WCC will operate automatically on a continuos basis without the need for continual supervision, and includes automatic control and monitoring systems for operation and water quality portability.

The WCC automatically imparts a safe, measurable iodine biocide into the treated water ensuring that the water remains bacteriologically safe after treatment. No additional chemical dosing is required.

The Equipment:
The Water Control Center

The Water Control Center1 off 20ft I.S.O. container, fitted with 2 off pre-filtration assemblies, 3 off MODULAR 100 water purification skid mounted units (section 2.2), including 2 off draw pumps with electronic program variability operating in duty and standby mode. Plus 2 off, 30 litre per second combined, distribution pumps with electronic program variability capable of setting flow and bar pressures to suit demand requirements. (See Annex B.)

Pre-filter assembly comes fitted with standard 10, 5 and 1 µm filters.

1 off Automatic Water Quality Monitor with readout and shut down program plus visual and audio alarm.

Central Control Panel with water failure and systems/pumps failure lights and alarms.

Electrical distribution panel for external power supply connection via socket or Buzz Bar terminal box arrangement. (State option.)
Electrical connections and switching to external water level switches situated in water storage tanks to control/monitor water usage/levels.

Electrical connections and switching to immersion heaters (5KW each) 1 off in each external water holding tank.

Internal air conditioning and heater assemblies to control WCC operational working temperatures.

Modular 100 Purification Unit
The WCC contains 3 off Modular 100 units, each capable of purifying 1,800 liters per hour.

Each Modular 100 is designed to purify up to 200,000 liters of water between changes.

The Modular 100 incorporates filtration via carbon block filters, followed by purification via controlled release of a biocidal agent producing primary and secondary disinfection/purification.

External Equipment
3 off 20ft ISO container water storage tank (1 off for raw water and 2 off for treated water), each circa 30,000 liters capacity. Pipework connecting the water storage tanks and WCC is supplied.

Post filter sets per cold-water tap used for human consumption is mandatory. 3 sets are provided.

Camps - Waste Water Management

Waste Water ManagementGENERAL: Submerged biological aerated fixed film system, forms the biological stage of a waste water treatment plant and is capable of treating populations of up to 1000 persons equivalent within a single module. Housed within a purpose built structure, the unit consists of a series of separate chambers, sized and arranged to achieve varying degrees and types of treatment, such as BOD removal and/or Nitrification.

PROCESS: Domestic and/or industrial waste water is received into the Primary/Balancing Tank which is the first stage of the treatment. Solids are settled and retained as primary sludge for periodic disposal. This stage in the process is designed to provide primary settlement as well as balancing of flow to even out surges to the biological reactor.

Settled effluent is fed to the first stage of the biological reactor at a controlled rate. The influent is efficiently and quickly mixed with the aerated bulk liquid already present in the reactor. Air is pumped to the reactor through a fine bubble diffuser, suitably located in each chamber. The oxygen rich effluent comes into contact with the biomass attached to the surface of the structured media. Organic pollutants and oxygen rapidly diffuse into the biomass, where biological treatment takes place. The organic load applied to the media within the first and subsequent stages of the biological reactor is such as to ensure that the process kinetics are not oxygen limiting and are of the first order with respect to BOD removal.
